10/100Base-TX-to-100Base-FX Media Converter

CA-4500PSE converts 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX. It supports the LFP (Link Fault Pass Through) function. If the link at TP or FX end fails, its LFP function will force the other end to close, which will make the engineers easy to trace whether a network link fails or not. It greatly firms the integrity and consistency of the connection between twisted pairs and fibers, and therefore improves the network maintainability. It also supports the FEF (Far End Fault) function: the converter senses the status of the optical interface at the remote. If the optical interface at the remote does not receive the information, the electrical port will automatically close and data transmitting will stop. As the result, the loss of important data will be efficiently avoided. The product complies with the IEEE802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) standard. As one kind of PSE(Power Sourcing Equipment), it obtains -48V DC voltage through the fiber optic link for data transmitting, and then supply power to the PD (powered device) in compliance with the IEEE802.3af standard via UTP.
